Video Transcript
(0:03) This sequence of videos will show you four different ways to get your baby on your back so that you can use your Onya Baby Carrier as a backpack.
(0:12) Please practice over a soft surface or with a responsible person to spot you while you're learning.
(0:23) Place your Onya Baby Carrier on a sofa or soft armchair pocket side down.
(0:29) The straps are buckled like a backpack and loose, while the waist belt is unbuckled and loose.
(0:35) Place your baby on the body of the Onya, making sure that the waist belt is going over your baby's legs.
(0:42) Sit down in front of your baby, scooting back to get her close to your back.
(0:48) Buckle the waist belt, making sure that the male buckle passes through the safety elastic.
(0:54) Place the shoulder straps on your shoulders.
(0:57) Keeping hold of the shoulder straps, quickly stand and pull down on the straps to tighten.
(1:03) Adjust the straps by either pulling up or down so that they're comfortable and even in length.
(1:09) Buckle the chest clip. Listen for the click.
(1:15) This is the Hip Scoot: Start with your carrier around your waist and buckled in the front with the shoulder straps loose and clipped like a backpack.
(1:25) Place one shoulder strap over one shoulder and tighten the strap.
(1:30) Hold your baby on the hip you usually hold them on.
(1:34) Reach along the top of the waist belt under the shoulder strap buckle.
(1:38) Take hold of your baby's lower leg or foot and gently pull your baby around to your back.
(1:45) Once your baby is on your back, put the second shoulder strap on.
(1:49) Tighten to adjust.
(1:52) Buckle the chest clip. Listen for the click.
(1:55) Adjust to comfort while gently bouncing your baby and lifting his knees to settle your baby's bum comfortably in the seat of your carrier.
(2:09) We call this the Hip Super Slide: Start with your Onya carrier hanging to the side that you most normally carry your baby on.
(2:17) The waist belt is buckled and the webbing is loose.
(2:21) The shoulder straps should be buckled like a backpack.
(2:25) The shoulder strap on the side you're holding your baby should be fairly tight.
(2:30) Holding your baby on your hip, bring the body of your Onya carrier up behind your baby.
(2:36) Hold both shoulder straps in your opposite hand.
(2:40) While sliding your baby around to your back, slip your arm into the shoulder strap.
(2:46) Continue holding the remaining strap while you finish sliding your baby around to your back.
(2:53) Place the remaining shoulder strap on and adjust.
(2:58) Buckle the chest clip. Listen for the click.
(3:03) Bounce your baby gently while gently lifting under his legs to settle his bum in the seat of your Onya.
(3:15) The Piggy-Back: Start with your Onya baby carrier buckled around your waist and hanging to the back.
(3:20) Sit and let your child grab on.
(3:23) Stand, put the shoulder straps on, and buckle the chest clip.
(3:30) Adjust the shoulder straps and bounce your baby gently to settle them into your Onya baby carrier.
